There are several thousand different diets out there. The choice we all have to make is the diet that will work for our body type. We first need to understand how our body handles certain foods and what it means to us. For instance, many people tend to head for the carbohydrates when we are tired, in the hopes of increasing our energy. The downside to this is the inability to burn all of the carbohydrates we take in. The low carb diet is just one of the many diets available for those trying to lose weight. The low carb diet is based on changing the intake of carbohydrates to a minimum. In other words, the low carb diet is exactly that you will be counting carbohydrates along with calories.

One of the most famous low carb diets is the Atkins diet. This diet eliminates carbohydrates in your meals while increasing protein. There are many problems with diets and while there is conjecture on even the Atkins diet as long as you keep a few things in mind you should be safe during your diet. The idea is not to actually diet as much as you are going to change how you eat for the rest of your life.

The low carb diets that say you will lose weight in days and keep it off are only half-true. As long as you continue to follow the diet, you will lose weight and keep it off. However if you convert back to your old eating habits you will gain the weight right back. There is now instant weight loss to keep it off. Think of a low carb diet as a job. This job requires thought at all times in what you eat and how much you eat, as well as fitting in exercise.

When you choose a low carb diet, you need to watch the amount of carbs in everything you eat. This means you need to have a table, notebook, or computer to keep track of the foods you eat every day when you start. Once you know the foods you can eat, you may not feel the need to keep track of what you eat. Foods that tend to be high in carbohydrates include breads, applesauce, sweets, sodas, lattes, ice cream, and many other foods. Most individuals can survive off forty-six grams of carbohydrates or less during a low carb diet.

If you have any questions about a low carb diet you are on you should ask your doctor. Your doctor will help you figure out the best diet for you. They can help you understand what type of diet you should be on not only because of your body type, but also related to your abilities to follow the diet. Some diets offer you foods you will not like so you begin to trade them out. The idea of a low carb diet is that you watch your carbohydrates rather than eating foods you dislike entirely.

I wonder if any one has tried to mix a protein and fat day today? On low carb or atkins protein and fat is the main source to lose so would this work in P3?

Hello Ashely, I am praying for you and hope that you feel better soon. When sick I like to chill in my home and be around love ones and pray for a quick recovery. I know your reason for falling ill… however its to be a healthy weight. currently on the atkins diet. You can eat as much meat and salads as you want. Must stay away from the tasty carbs like RICE… noticed weight loss. Feel better soon. ;)

Sounds like the Atkins diet was a literal troll diet. “Oh yeah! Eat nothing but fat and lose it all!”

My body loved p3 too- I could eat quite a lot actually and not count calories and maintain perfectly. For me as soon as I added carbs in it was a lot more iffy. Plus I am always tempted to overeat carbs. I think for me personally I will always need to be fairly low carb to maintain. I think every body does better with foods. Stuff your face with FAT and PROTEIN on the cruise- I bet be safe if you do that.
